The Expression of Depression

When you’re living with depression, even breathing can feel heavy and labor some. On my healing journey, I have removed a lot of feelings of depression and worthlessness from my own body. Many of my clients experience the same symptoms. I can understand how they feel, and help them heal. Depression is more common that you may think. It may be difficult to identify if you’ve lived with it for so long. However, it can be healed.


In my practice, I’ve noticed many who experience depression have had thousands of past lives, accumulating in held heaviness within the body. The heaviness oftentimes is held in the lungs. The heaviness in the lungs can feel like being pulled down within the depths of the ocean. Trying and struggling for thousands of lifetimes can result in this heaviness. It is showing up in this life because it is ready to be healed.


What are characteristics of depression?


According to the DSM-5 (a diagnostic book psychologists use) Depression is expressed through these characteristics:


  • Loss of interest or pleasure in almost all activities.

  • Feeling of worthlessness or feeling you would rather be dead.

  • Significant, unintentional weight gain or weight loss.

  • Sleeping too much or inability to sleep.

  • Tiredness, fatigue, low energy, less efficient in doing things you normally do.

  • Recurring thoughts of death, suicide, or suicide attempts.

  • A sense of unworthiness or excessive guilt.

  • Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration over small matters.

  • Feelings of emptiness or hopelessness.


We all feel these things at some time, but when you feel several of these symptoms for days or weeks at a time, it may be affecting your quality of life. Living with these feelings untreated may create a vicious cycle of self sabotaging behaviors, leading to more feelings of depression.


How to stop the cycle?

As a healing practitioner, I have learned the most important part of healing is a person must allow themselves to feel. Let yourself feel the sadness that is stuck inside your body. Allow the pain to have a voice. Let yourself cry out. Allow yourself to feel and express the pain being held within. It will not hurt you to feel. It will release the sadness from your body.


How to release sadness from the body:

 (please be in a private place and ask your angels and guides to be with you in this process).


  1. Bring your hands to your heart for a moment by placing the palms of both hands on your upper chest.

  2. Take a breath in your mouth an out your mouth and let go. Do this several times.

  3. Now, give yourself permission to feel the pain inside your body. Tell your body you are ready to feel what is there. You might feel sadness or even anger. Maybe there is a memory that comes to your mind.

  4. Let go with your breath and keep feeling what is there. Allow the emotion. Allow yourself to fall apart: cry, scream, yell, punch a pillow, clench your fists, or whatever physical expression you need (just do it safely).

  5. Keep allowing the expression of what your feel until you feel the intensity has reduced.

 


Note: it is normal to feel shaky, numb, dizzy or a little disorientated fallowing this practice.  Just lay down with your hands on your heart to stabilized. Drink plenty of water, breath and let go. Sit in nature or have a bath to help further stabilize your energy. Thank your guides for their support.


What is happening with this process is the cells of your body are releasing something called “density.” The density is the reason you feel the sadness. Density is created by sadness or other emotions stick inside the cells. When you connect to your heart and feel emotions, that is the density releasing for the cells of your body.


You might feel a lightness in your body or a new sense of freedom fallowing this process. Each time you do this practice, you allow your body to become lighter. You are claiming your light! It is incredibly liberating to create your own healing. Ultimately, you are creating a self liberation process. Congratulations, you are taking back your power!
